A tube-type tyre requires an inner tube to hold air — they can’t be used tubeless. Inner tubes are sold separately unless specifically included. This is the most common setup for everyday bikes and is easy to install or repair if you get a puncture.

Wire bead bicycle tyres feature a rigid steel wire in their bead, making them durable and generally more affordable. While they cannot be folded and are heavier than folding tyres, they offer excellent reliability and a wide range of options for everyday riding. Sometimes we ship them in a gentle figure-8 shape — this won’t harm the tyre and it will pop back into shape once fitted.

What happens if I use the wrong size tube for my tyre?
You really want to avoid using the wrong size tube where possible. In an emergency situation it might get you home, but there's a high risk of flatting in the process.
Should I carry spare tubes when I'm riding?
Yes, most people will carry one or two spare inner tubes when riding. In the event of a puncture, a replacement tube can be relatively easily swapped out so that you can keep riding.
