Squirt Long Lasting Chain Lube with Wax Emulsion

Price range: $3.99 through $22.95

Keep your bike chain running smooth and clean with Squirt Long Lasting Chain Lube with Wax. Ideal for road or trail, it reduces friction and wear while repelling dirt for longer-lasting performance.1

Squirt Long Lasting Chain Lube with Wax keeps your bike chain moving smoothly and quietly. This wax-based bike chain lubricant protects your drivetrain and helps you ride longer between applications. With Squirt, your chain stays clean, efficient, and ready for the road or trail.

It works particularly well in dry, dusty, or mixed conditions where dirt and grit usually slow you down. Riders who want low-maintenance lubrication will notice fewer stops to reapply and less grime build-up. Perfect for commuting, road cycling, or mountain biking, Squirt makes chain care simple and reliable.

Who is this for?

Ideal for riders who want a clean, quiet chain with minimal maintenance. Perfect for road cyclists, mountain bikers, and commuters who want a wax-based lube that keeps their drivetrain performing well over long rides.

Who is this not for?

Not suitable for riders looking for a wet or heavy-duty lube designed for muddy, wet trails. Squirt wax lube performs best when it can dry on the chain, so it’s less effective in consistently wet conditions.

Why we love it

We’ve found Squirt makes chains run smoother and cleaner than any other wax lube. Our favourite part is how little mess it creates, and that it lasts for hours without needing a top-up. It’s a small step that makes every ride feel better.

Hot tip!

Apply Squirt to a completely clean, dry chain for best results. Let it dry fully before riding, especially in humid or wet weather. A little goes a long way, and topping up after a long ride keeps your drivetrain quiet and efficient.

This stuff is fantastic if you use it correctly. It is not if you don’t.1) Clean your chain. Strip it completely of lube, grease and dirt in whatever way you prefer. Just make sure it is REALLY SQUEAKY clean. Like if you put the chain back on the bike it would squeak.2) Put the chain back on the bike.3) Drench the chain with squirt while slowly turning. This will be messy and I like to use cardboard to contain the mess in my garage. Let it sit for about 5-15 minutes.4) Wipe the excess off with a rag and reapply following the same procedure as step 3. Then wipe again.5) Ride and repeatIn the beginning, on a road bike, I would get maybe 40-60 miles before needing to reapply. Basically once a ride for a couple days. Then it just started to “take” and basically more and more wax would build up until I had the cleanest and smoothest bike chain in the world. You could probably achieve the same thing by just soaking the chain in lube but I would run out more quickly lol. All 5 of my bikes run with this lube in both wet and dry conditions. I never get dirty when I need to touch the chains and the road, mountain, cruiser and hybrids all have smooth efficient, long lasting performance up to about 200 miles for the road bike

Seems to be good chain lube – does what it says on the bottle. Chain runs smooth and quiet between applications, and is over all cleaner than the rock and roll gold I’d been using for the past year. This stuff is a wax – not an oil. It works a little differently than an oil, and should be maintained a little differently for best results.Follow the directions to the letter.Start with a scrupulously clean drive train, apply as directed, wipe the chain every couple rides with a dry, clean, rag to brush off the loose wax (along with the sequestered dirt in it)re apply when needed (hint: it’s not very often)Do not de grease or use any cleaning products on the chain, just wipe it with a clean rag periodically.Make sure if you are going to re lube you do it the day before you ride – let it soak into the chain and let the carrier (water I think) evaporate overnightI’ve heard you can hurry this up with a hair dryer if you have to… but why bother? Just plan ahead.Back in the early 2000s I used to be a Pedro’s Ice wax kinda guy – squirt is sort of like that… only better.

I met a person on the Stand bike path in the So. Bay of SoCal, he had just returned from a 3000 MI round trip to Cabo San Lucas on a full suspension Mongoose, he started his journey with a brand new SRAM 1X11 drive train and it still looked brand new.I asked what he used for chain lube and he pulled out a shop size bottle of Squirt and showed me.I ordered a shop size bottle and cleaned my recently installed drive train and applied, I definitely noticed a difference in the feel of my drive train over my 1st 20MI ride. I FULLY ENDORSE SQUIRT AND IT IS ALL I USE ON ALL 3 OF MY BIKES.It seems to ball up with dirt and contaminates and throws /falls off as you pedal, I’ve found small balls of wax on the floor where I work on my bike and there full of dirt and unwanted contaminates, I apply before and after each rideand my chain stay is cleaner than I’ve ever seen before. I replaced the chain stay protector at the same time I changed over to Squirt.

The long nozzle arrived broken but this is the best chain lube that I have found so far (been cycling for over 50 years).

I’ve tried just about every chain lube under the sun. If you ride in dry, dusty conditions this is the best chain lube you can buy, period.

This stuff is nice. Ive been cycling for nearly 50 years and have owned so many bikes I can’t remember. So, when I run across a chain lube that doesnt goop up all my components and anger my wife when I put black greased up togs in the laundry I’m pretty happy. Moreover, my chain sings through the cogs now better than almost anything I’ve used before. I have yet to notice component wear but, if the chain is so slick moving through and I can notice more pedaling ease, I doubt it’s having a negative effect on parts. Another thing I like is that it has an almond color to it so I can see where I put it on the chain. That way I can make sure it’s distributed evenly.

Best stuff, use to treat my chains in melted wax, now use this and seems just as good

  10. TD

Best I have used in 35 years riding. Extends drivetrain life to where I rarely replace chains on bikes that I’ve used Squirt on exclusively. Once a chain has a complete Squirt coating I can forget to lube for several rides before chain noise reappears.
