29 Inch Tubes

Looking for 29 inch inner tubes for your mountain bike or commuter setup? You’re in the right place. At Mr Cycling World, we stock a variety of high-quality 29" tubes to suit a wide range of tyres, riding styles, and budgets. Whether you need a basic but reliable tube for everyday riding, or a lightweight TPU tube for race day, we’ve got options to match.

What bikes use 29 inch tubes?

29 inch tubes are most commonly used on modern mountain bikes—also known as 29ers. You’ll also find them fitted to some hybrid bikes and touring bikes. These tubes typically suit tyres with an ETRTO diameter of 622mm and widths between 1.75" and 2.40". If your tyre reads something like "29 x 2.10" or "54-622", then a 29 inch tube is likely the right choice.

Presta or Schrader valve?

Most of our 29 inch tubes come in both Presta and Schrader valve types. If your rims have a small valve hole (often found on higher-end or performance bikes), you’ll need Presta. If they use a standard car-style valve hole, choose Schrader. Still unsure? Just check your current tube or rim and match the same valve style.

What brands are available?

We stock tubes from reputable manufacturers including:
  • Schwalbe – known for durable, well-sealed butyl and Aerothan TPU options
  • Positz – lightweight and affordable TPU tubes ideal for riders wanting to reduce rolling weight
  • Factor – solid value tubes for everyday use, popular among MTB riders
  • AirPro – thorn-resistant tubes designed for tough Australian trails
  • Hutchinson Protect’Air – self-sealing tubes that help prevent flats on the go

Why do 29 inch tubes fail?

Like all tubes, 29ers can puncture due to thorns, pinch flats, worn tyres, or incorrect installation. Over time, they can also degrade from UV exposure, moisture, or being stored flat for too long. If you’re getting frequent flats or have a valve that's cracked or leaking, it’s probably time to swap them out.

How to choose the right size

To be sure you’re buying the right size tube, check the sidewall of your tyre—it should show something like “29 x 2.10” or “ETRTO 54-622”. Match the width range of your tube (e.g., 1.75–2.35) to this number. If you’re not 100% sure, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to help.
