Tubeless tyres are designed to be used without an inner tube, but they do need specific tubeless rims, tubeless valves, and sealant to make them airtight. Once set up properly, they can offer a smoother ride with lower rolling resistance and fewer punctures from thorns and sharp objects. You can also run lower air pressures for better grip.
